Debbie Moore and the cast of Downton Abbey support Great Britain’s Special Olympics team

Debbie Moore joined the cast of ITV’s hit period drama Downton Abbey at a fundraising event in support of Great Britain’s Special Olympics team.

Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Joanne Froggatt and the show’s creator Julian Fellowes were among those who attended the gala dinner at the Landmark hotel in central London.

The money raised will help children and adults with intellectual disabilities get involved in sport. The Special Olympics World Summer Games will be held in Los Angeles on July 25 to August 2, 2015.

Debbie Moore presents the Professional Excellence Award at The Life After Stroke Awards Ceremony 2015

Continuing a long association with the Stroke Association, Debbie Moore attended The Life After Stroke Awards Ceremony on Thursday 25th June at the Rosewood London.

Debbie presented the award to Margaret Mitchell MBE, a Community Nurse and Stroke Liaison Team Leader at Tayside Hospital in Dundee.

Margaret has spent the past four-and-a-half decades in nursing and in recent years has been involved in the care of stroke survivors in Tayside.

She has transformed the lives of stroke survivors in and around Dundee, to the extent that she was recently awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours List for services to healthcare.
