The Guardian are starting a new 1 minute instagram series called ‘Dance Off’ which goes out to their audience of nearly 800,000 viewers.
They will be filming in clubs, festivals, streets and parks around the world capturing a wide variety of dance genres where different dancers are having an impromptu dance off. All ages, backgrounds and filming locations will be considered.
Pineapple Community, London Youth and The Movement Factory partnered up for another dance residential.
The weekend of events was held at London Youth’s Woodrow High House for young people aged 14-18 years old.
On 10th–12th March over 50 young people and youth workers came together from different parts of London to participate in a special dance weekend based on well-being, dance, movement, fun and fitness.
The young people worked extremely hard over the course of the weekend. Each day started at 7.30am with yoga, meditation & stretching classes with four hours of different dance styles and three hours of fitness classes. The youngsters also had an opportunity to pitch a project to win funding from London Youth.
The weekend ended with an open discussion led by the instructors, who shared their individual journeys. This inspirational discussion focussed on staying motivated, and motivated the young people to follow their aims and ambitions.
