Egyptian Dance is the oldest dance in the world and is now more popular than ever. All dances of the Middle East are commonly called bellydance. In Arabic this dance is called ‘raqs sharqi’ or oriental dance.
The show style using a veil for the entrance, a takasim, song, beledie and drum solo is now the standard format for a performance routine. This style is very feminine and allows women to use all the curvy aspects of movement. It improves balance, creates a sense of grace and confidence. The wonderful drum rhythms provide an exciting way to build body strength and inspire one to get fit, having the result of a beautiful and challenging dance routine.
This dance class presents all the basic technique on which the dance show is built. Each foundation class includes the same routines that are practiced and developed to lead to an authentic style of dance
