BALLROOM, LATIN AND WEDDING WITH ALEXANDRA

Alex's approach to private classes is two fold, with teaching falling into two categories.

Social Ballroom - dancing for fun, i.e. special events, gifts, birthdays, weddings, social functions, etc.

Ballroom: Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Tango.
Latin: Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, and Paso Doble.
Jive.

Professional Ballroom - mainly for dancers and those wishing to perform, or who intend to teach professionally. This is also useful for those who want to study for I.S.T.D. examinations or to take their medal tests.

Alex teaches a 5 Week course at Pineapple each Thursday at 8 pm in Studio 10.

This is an ongoing course with no start date. You can start on any Thursday - you will soon catch up!

The course will comprise the 10 dances - 5 Latin American and 5 Ballroom (known as the British 10). In the lessons you will learn the names of the steps, the beats, and the counts of the bar, as well as the tempo of each dance.

The class will incorporate both partner and non-partner work, therefore it is not essential to have a dance partner to attend the class.

ALEX RATNER

Alex has had an extensive training in most o f the arts. She received both her full time academic and stage education at the Italia Conti Theatre of the Arts, where she studied drama, elocution, singing, ballet, tap, and jazz dance for five years.

She graduated with R.A.D. Ballet, L.A.M.D.A. elocution, I.S.T.D. Tap and worked in American and Israeli film productions, and took further qualifications including I.S.T.D. Imperial Society section of Ballroom and Latin American dancing.

Alex has worked with clients including fashion designers Viktor and Rolfe, Claire Danes, Hugh Dancy, Ross Kemp, Sadie Frost and Angharad Rees.
