Tai Chi & Ba Kua with Maurice Passman
Maurice Passman is the Chief Instructor of the Rose Li School. He has over twenty years experience in martial arts is one of the only teachers in the West teaching the whole Chinese Internal Martial Arts system (Nei Jia).
Tai chi can be practiced by nearly all ages and al levels of fitness. People experience a wide variety of benefits from tai chi practice including stretched and toned muscles, improved posture, better balance and coordination, greater self-awareness and increased well-being. Tai chi is excellent for de-stressing, strengthening after injury, relief from chronic pain (particularly lower back pain), and post-natal mothers.
Ba Kua means 'Eight Triagrams' or 'eight changes' in English. Ba Kua is characterised by 'circle walking' where the practitioner walks in a continuous circle executing various patterns of movement and forms. Ba Kua emphasises sinuous movement, evasion and the use of body torque to perform striking and blocking.
MAURICE PASSMAN
Maurice Passman, the principal instructor of the Rose Li School, was taught by Rose Li and has over 20 years of experience.
He was formally adopted into her martial arts family (Wu Shu Jia) in 1999, prior to her death in 2001 and was obligated to undertake sole responsibility for teaching all aspects of Nei Jai (Chinese Internal Martial Arts System) after her death. In this way, Miss Li gave Maurice her greatest gift, and one that continues to give: knowledge and understanding.
