by Pineapple Dance Studios

Starting in April, this Improver’s Pointe Course with Ruth Mair Howard-Jones is the perfect continuation from beginner level. This Pineapple 6-week dance course is suitable for anyone who is:

  • Confident with the basics of pointe
  • Returning to the world of pointe following a break or injury
  • Looking to achieve their first enchainments en pointe
  • And for non-classical dancers wishing to improve their pointe technique.

It’s always exciting wearing pointe shoes and through this short but impactful 6-week ballet course you will increase in strength, technique, artistry and confidence as well as make friends with similar interest and have fun in!

Students will explore how to choose the best pointe shoes and will be taken through pointe shoes prep in various methods to find the one right for every individual. During the classes within this course, you will practice your foot and body strength as well as key strengthening exercises for the whole body. Once ready we will look at sustained balances and pirouettes.

Finally, to celebrate completing the 6-week course, we will film a short ballet sequence with students who wish to participate to create a lasting memory.
