This Intro to Contemporary Dance Course with Lisa Fitzgerald is a beginner friendly introduction to contemporary dance. This 6 week course will explore elements from contemporary dance such as the use of breath, weight transfer, dynamics, and emotion. Students will practice coordination, work on core strength, body alignment and rhythmic timing in a supportive and inclusive space at Pineapple.
Each class will include a warm-up, technical exercises, travelling work and a combination that Lisa will repeat and build on each session. This will allow individuals to become comfortable with technical elements, movement phrasing, and have a chance to add their own improvisation and interpretation to the combination by the end of the course. Class will end with a cool down.
