Ballroom Course

Beginners

During the 12 week course you will learn basic steps of the four ballroom dances (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Quickstep) and the four Latin American dances (Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba and Jive).

This course is designed for people who have never danced before, no previous dancing experience is necessary, you will be learning simple choreographies. The fifth, eighth, eleventh and twelfth lessons will be a re-cap of the dances covered by that stage.

Intermediate

If you are able to dance basic steps of most ballroom and latin dances (for example you completed 12 week beginners course comfortably), or you have previous experience of other styles and you can learn new routines easily, this course would suit you.

After doing a reminder of some basic steps, Michael will be teaching you some new steps for all of the ballroom dances (Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep) and all the Latin American dances (Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive). There will be reminders and re-cap classes of the dances covered by that stage to make sure you memorise all the steps.

Advanced

If you are able to dance quite complicated set of steps of all ballroom and latin dances (for example you completed 12 week intermediate course comfortably), or you have previous ballroom dancing experience and you can follow fairly complex routines of all 10 dances well, this course would suit you.

After doing some technique exercises for each dance, you’ll be learning advance routines for all of the ballroom dances (Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep) and the Latin American dances (Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive). At the beginning of each class there will be a reminder of a couple of previous lessons so you can memorise the steps better. Sixth and twelfth sessions will be re-cap lessons where you will have a chance to go through all the routines again.

Proficient

If you have attended a 12 week advance ballroom dancing course at least three time before and you feel very comfortable with all the routines showed, or you have at least 2 years of ballroom dancing experience and know all 10 dances really well, this course would suit you.

After doing some technique exercises for each dance, you’ll be learning some interesting and fairly demanding routines for all of the ballroom dances (Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep) and the Latin American dances (Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive). During these last two advanced course you’ll be shown one dance per hour, talking more about technique, leading and style of each dance. This way at the end of each session you will have a much better understanding of a character and way of dancing each dance.

Friday short courses

The 3 week course will broaden your knowledge and understanding of one dance. You can join it if you are a beginner or as a more experienced dancer.

You can also attend it as an addition to one of the 12 week courses. At the beginning of the course you’ll be shown basic steps and then progress to much more complicated routines. You will also gain technical knowledge as we progress during the course. Michael will be doing a reminder of the previous class each week and then adding more steps to it. During the last class we will not only add some additional steps but also we will sum up everything we have learnt by then.
