Susan Zalcman

Susan has danced as a soloist in internationally acclaimed companies, including Northern Ballet, The Israel Ballet, Ballet-de-Nice, Ballet-de-Charleroi, and in New-York.

Her dance career has spanned over a lifetime of passion for dance and ballet in particular. She has worked with many of the world's greatest teachers, dancers and choreographers.

In 2014 Susan celebrated 25 years of teaching at Pineapple and of the Susan Zalcman School of Ballet, which is affiliated with The Royal Academy of Dance.

Susan believes everyone can gain from the many benefits of classical ballet. You will leave her classes feeling like a ballerina.


Suitable for everyone, regardless of experience. A gentle class with plenty of stretching and opportunity to learn correct ballet technique.


Suitable for those with some experience of ballet, also recommended in conjunction with level 1 for those returning to ballet.

    • Basic Ballet

      Basic ballet classes are for those looking for a good basic understanding of the classical ballet technique, which not only improves fitness but is also great fun.

    • Pointe Work

      Pointe technique is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes.

    • Classical Ballet

      Ballet is the foundation from which nearly all dance styles have developed. It requires strong technique, athleticism and grace.
