The contemporary Québécois dance company Cas Public has a reputation for adapting familiar stories in new and compelling ways.
Symphonie Dramatique is Artistic Director Hélène Blackburn’s take on Shakespeare’s
Romeo and Juliet. Eight dancers tell the tale of star-crossed lovers with the company’s characteristic contagious energy, shedding new light on literature’s most famous love story.
Sound artist Martin Tétreault creates the score, drawing on music written by Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Gounod and others.
