Introduction to Contemporary with Charlotte Sigrist (6 weeks)

by Pineapple Dance Studios

Introduction to Contemporary Dance with Charlotte Sigrist is perfect for anyone coming to contemporary for the first time. This beginner-friendly course explores the foundations of contemporary dance, including weight transitions, breathwork, basic floorwork, and creating flowing, expressive movement. Charlotte provides a supportive space where students can learn at a comfortable pace.

Each class includes a warm-up, centre work, and choreography. The warm-up focuses on body alignment, core strength, and hip and spine mobilisation. Centre work develops a movement vocabulary of slides, rolls, turns, and jumps. Choreography encourages connection to breath, body awareness, and inner expression.

The course is designed to help students build confidence, develop technique, and enjoy the process of learning.

No previous dance experience is necessary — all are welcome!
