Introduction to K-Pop with Hsing Ya & Luci Hong (6 weeks)

Get ready to level up your K-Pop moves! In this exciting 6-week course, you’ll dive into iconic Girl Group choreography with Hsing Ya for the first 3 weeks, then switch it up and bring the power with Boy Group routines led by Luci Hong in the final 3 weeks.

Girl Group with Hsing Ya:
Each session begins with a warm-up, full-body stretching, and basic rhythm practice, followed by light movements to help students develop a feel for K-Pop choreography. The main choreography is taught step by step, building confidence through fun and joyful learning. Hsing Ya teaches with joy and passion, creating a positive and encouraging environment for learning K-Pop dance.

Boy Group with Luci:
A super welcoming introduction to K-Pop Boy Group style! We’ll break down the movement connections, musicality, and the “feeling” behind the choreography in a clear and detailed way. Everything will be taught step by step, making it perfect for beginners who want to build confidence, understand the style properly, and enjoy dancing to iconic K-Pop tracks!

WHAT TO BRING

  • Footwear: Wear comfortable shoes/trainers you can dance in.
  • Comfortable clothing:  For our dance classes, we encourage everyone to wear what they feel the most comfortable to move in. You can visit our Pineapple store opposite the studios and ask for advice from our staff, or can check out our online store where we have all the dance essentials you might need for your class. We have changing rooms and showers on location.
  • Water bottle: It's important to stay hydrated during your classes, so make sure you bring your water bottle. We have multiple water points in the building where you can have a refill. 

SCHEDULE

This K-pop course for beginners is 6 weeks long, with 1 class per week on Sunday (6 classes all together). Each class is 60 minutes long and held by  Hsing Ya and Luci Hong at Pineapple Dance Studios. 

Course start date: Sunday 4th January 2026

Timings: Sunday 5.15 - 6.15pm (60 minutes)

  • 1st Class: Sunday 4th January 
  • 2nd Class: Sunday 11th January
  • 3rd Class: Sunday 18th January
  • 4th Class: Sunday 25th January
  • 5th Class: Sunday 1st February
  • 6th Class: Sunday 8th February 

Price: £89

All courses are non-refundable* and have to be booked before their start date. The course price is inclusive of our membership fee.

ABOUT LUCI HONG

Luci is an enthusiastic and vibrant dance instructor specialising in K-Pop and choreography. Her classes are packed with high-energy routines, detailed breakdowns, and engaging music choices that resonate with dancers of all ages and skill levels. Known for her supportive, upbeat teaching style, Luci encourages students to build confidence, sharpen technique, and express themselves fully—making each class a fun and uplifting experience.

ABOUT HSING YA

Hsing Ya is an award-winning choreographer and professional dancer with over 15 years of experience across advertising, music videos, and stage productions in New York, Taiwan, Paris, and London. She is an energised and versatile Contemporary & K-Pop teacher with a phenomenal teaching technique.

She has received multiple grants from Arts Council England, Taiwan’s National Culture and Arts Foundation, and the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan. Her work has been showcased at Sadler’s Wells, The Place, and as part of the Ella Mesma Company since 2016. Recent highlights include residencies at Paris’ Cité Internationale des Arts and Chisenhale Dance Space, as well as collaborations with Dance Forum Taipei, WC Dance Company, Feng Dance Company, and Appetite Dance Productions. Hsing Ya holds an MFA in Choreography from Taipei National University of the Arts.
