Introduction to Tap with Amy Ireland (6 weeks)

Always dreamed of learning tap dancing? Join this 6 week course led by the incredible Amy Ireland, where you'll dive into tap and rhythm basics. Amy will also help refine your storytelling and performance skills, boosting overall confidence in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

By the end of this introductory tap course, students will be able to enter a beginner's tap class with confidence. This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as anyone wanting a refresher on the basics of tap dance. No need to own tap shoes to take part, simply bring some hard soled shoes or trainers and a willingness to learn!

WHAT TO BRING

  • Footwear: No need to own tap shoes to take part, simply bring some hard soled shoes or trainers.
  • Comfortable clothing:  For our dance classes, we encourage everyone to wear what they feel the most comfortable to move in. You can visit our Pineapple store opposite the studios and ask for advice from our staff, or can check out our online store where we have all the dance essentials you might need for your class. We have changing rooms and showers on location.
  • Water bottle: It's important to stay hydrated during your classes, so make sure you bring your water bottle. We have multiple water points in the building where you can have a refill. 

SCHEDULE

This tap course for beginners is 6 weeks long, with 1 class per week on Sundays (6 classes all together). Each class is 60 minutes long and held by Amy Ireland at Pineapple Dance Studios. 

Course start date: Sunday 22nd March 2026

Timings: 1.15 - 2.15pm (60 minutes)

1st Class: Sunday 22nd March

2nd Class: Sunday 29th March

Please Note: No Class on Sunday 5th April

3rd Class: Sunday 12th April

4th Class: Sunday 19th April

5th Class: Sunday 26th April 

6th Class: Sunday 3rd May

Price: £89

All courses are non-refundable* and have to be booked before their start date. The course price is inclusive of our membership fee.

ABOUT AMY IRELAND

Amy has been teaching at a professional level for nearly 10 years now. Her teaching has predominantly been at vocational colleges however over the years Amy has taught a vast range of ages and abilities.

Amy teaches across discipline and currently offers classes in tap and contemporary jazz which focus on choreographic style. Classes are Amy's safe space and she continues to welcome dancers into the studio to share her knowledge & nurture the individual.
