Industry Jazz Performance Passion Edition Workshop with Brett Sturgis

On Saturday, 16th December, Brett Sturgis is back with another fabulous workshop for advanced dancers in studio & online at Pineapple Dance Studios, London!

This Industry Jazz Workshop will take you through a heightened performance level fusion of jazz, igniting your passion for dance and movement! Leading this advanced dance workshop is Brett Sturgis, an internationally renowned creative director and choreographer, straight off of the pre-Broadway run of the new Louis Armstrong musical, “A Wonderful World”.

Brett’s workshop will focus on a detailed warm up, choreography combination and a heavy dive into enhancing performance quality for dancers stepping into the world of dance industry. Retaining choreography, physical and facial awareness, and individual performance quality for live stage and camera will be heavily nurtured and encouraged within this workshop. Limited spaces available, book now!

About Brett Sturgis

Brett Sturgis, born and raised in Bronx, New York. He began dancing and singing at the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club training in styles of West African, Jazz, Tap, Modern and Hip Hop. Teaching since age 15 while a part of the dance troupe Culture Shock he learned the true meaning of structure, composition and execution hands on.

While attending Professional Performing Arts School & Talent Unlimited H.S he majored in dance as well as classical vocal and took Musical Theater as an elective while training at Amas Musical Theater for acting/vocal and fine tuning at Ballet Hispanico and The Alvin Ailey School. Since then he has taught in Amsterdam at the Lucia Marthas Dance Academy, Fontys Academy, Impact Dance in London, Los Angeles at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Teen Broadway in Sao Paulo Brazil, Beyond Belief Dance Studio in Texas, New York City at Broadway Dance Center, Steps, Opus Dance Theater, Man In Motion, Revolucion Latina, NYU, University of Melbourne and Ballet Hispanico. Brett has choreographed numerous award shows, Music Videos, fashion shows and industrials in Germany, Budapest, China, Spain & United States and Puerto Rico.

Working closely with local youth organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs Of America/Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, The NY Board Of Education, The Door and various studios in N.Y & N.J has made him the “ Man of many styles ”. Teaching styles include: Jazz, Theater Jazz, West african, Hip Hop/Street Jazz, Tap, Flamenco fusion, Samba Fusion, Afro cuban, Modern Jazz, Bomba y Plena, Salsa open shines/partner work on 2, Vocal Technique & Power, Songwriting, Group vocals with an equal knowledge of each discipline and style he teaches. He strives to make the next generation of performers versatile and passionate about what they do when the lights hit the stage!
