Matilda Workshop with West End Cast Member (10yrs+)

Join Matilda’s original Dance Captain, Sam Lathwood for an extra special Musical Theatre Dance Workshop on Sunday 5th May at Pineapple Dance Studios.

Challenge yourself to learn sections of multi award winning choreography from popular numbers such as ‘Revolting Children’ and ‘Bruce’ from the world famous West End and Broadway smash hit show: Matilda the Musical! This workshop is set to be super fun, high energy and unmissable! This is an intermediate to advanced workshop aimed at adults, but advanced dancers from the age of 10 up are welcome.

About Sam Lathwood 

Sam Lathwood is a performer originally from Manchester who moved to London to train at the prestigious ‘Arts Educational Schools London’. He is currently Dance Captain/ Swing at Matilda the Musical! and has been in other West End and touring shows such as Mary Poppins (Prince Edward Theatre, West End), A Christmas Carol (The Old Vic), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), Matilda (UK and Ireland Tour), Mary Poppins (International Tour), Hairspray (UK and Ireland Tour), Elf the Musical (Plymouth, Dublin, Manchester), The Pirates of Penzance (Hackney Empire/ Australian Tour) and Disaster! (Charing Cross Theatre). Sam worked as a session singer and recorded the soundtrack for the critically acclaimed Disney Movie, Mary Poppins Returns, the West End Cast Recording of Mary Poppins and was a backing vocalist for Adele at Wembley Stadium before 98,000 people.

Sam has been part of many workshops such as the Matilda Movie (Netflix), Groundhog Day (The Old Vic), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Pre-Broadway), Vanara (London) and has appeared on screen in Operation Mincemeat (Movie), Britains Got Talent (ITV), The Jane McDonald Show (ITV), The National Lottery’s Big Night of the Musical (BBC/ RSC/ Manchester AO Arena), Eurosport Winter Olympics Commercial and has appeared in two Royal Variety Performances at The London Palladium and The Royal Albert Hall.
