Seven Dials Trust Honours Debbie Moore OBE's Pineapple Dance Studios with a Commemorative People’s Plaque
On 10th July 2025, the world-famous Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden celebrated a major milestone as the Seven Dials Trust unveiled a People’s Plaque in honour of founder Debbie Moore OBE.
The plaque now proudly stands on Langley Street, marking the site where Debbie transformed a former pineapple warehouse into an internationally recognised dance hub.
The event brought together an extraordinary guest list of many Pineapple legends and dance royalty, with Dame Arlene Phillips DBE officially unveiling the plaque. Famous faces in attendance included Wayne Sleep OBE, Louie Spence, Justin Neto, Whitney Way Thore, Esther McVey, Bonnie Langford, Amrit S Maan FRSA, OBE and the Lord Mayor of Westminster - a testament to Debbie’s lasting impact on the dance world and beyond.
Guests were treated to live performances from Pineapple’s teachers and dancers, capturing the studio’s vibrant energy and signature mix of styles—from commercial and contemporary to street, jazz, and beyond! In true Pineapple fashion, the afternoon was complete with a champagne reception, afternoon tea, nibbles, and a spectacular cake modelled after the plaque itself.
