Hsing Ya is an energised and experienced Contemporary and K-Pop dance teacher, known for her diverse dance background and phenomenal teaching technique.
She has been dancing with Ella Mesma Company, a British-based dance theatre company that blends hip-hop, contemporary, and Latin styles to create highly skilled and expressive theatre. Her training spans Contemporary Dance, K-Pop, Ballet, Belly Dancing, Improvisation, Yoga, and Choreography, making her a truly versatile and dynamic artist.
An award-winning choreographer and professional dancer with over 15 years of experience, Hsing Ya has been involved in the K-Pop dance scene since 2013, teaching and performing in New York, Paris, London, LA, and Taiwan.
She has received multiple grants from Arts Council England (UK), the National Culture and Arts Foundation, and the Ministry of Culture (Taiwan). Her international reach includes projects in the UK, USA, France, and Taiwan, and her work has been featured at Sadler’s Wells, The Place, Rich Mix, VAULT Festival, and more.
Hsing Ya has been a member of Ella Mesma Company since 2016 and has performed at major contemporary dance festivals, including Resolution 2019 and 2022 at The Place. In 2024–2025, she presented her own dance work in London as a community artist member at Chisenhale Dance Space, continuing to develop her artistic voice with passion and love.
In 2025–2026, Hsing Ya’s new dance production will be presented at Sadler’s Wells. In 2023, she also served as a residency choreographer at Cité internationale des arts in Paris.
Her extensive career spans collaborations with Dance Forum Taipei Company, WC Dance Company, Feng Dance Company, and Appetite Dance Productions. She holds an MFA in Choreography from Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA).
